$15/hr, plus eligibility to participate in the Foundation's retirement program.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Digital Media Intern at the UVM Foundation will work with the marketing team to create digital and graphic communications that effectively engage our target audience(s) - students, alumni, family, donors, and other community members with interest in UVM. They will contribute to our mission to support the University through engagement and fundraising, lending their creative eye to our marketing endeavors. The UVM Foundation is committed to helping UVM students and recent graduates pursue their academic and professional goals while developing leadership skills, technical abilities, and real-world professional experiences. This paid internship is an opportunity to conduct real and important Digital Media work for the UVM Foundation.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
85% Work with the Marketing team to design clear and engaging graphic communications for web and social media.
This includes:
designing website and social media graphics; assisting in the migration of website content on templated web pages; and assisting with other marketing materials as needed. 10% Participate in team meetings, organizational meetings, and strategic planning conversations in order to enhance your understanding of the Foundation's mission and help build consistent and thematic communications that align with those goals. 5% Observe, shadow, and learn from other team members in the pipeline, annual giving, and marketing team.
MINIMUM SKILLS & ABILITIES
Proficiency in Canva, and/or Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, or other common design applications. Candidates will be asked to provide 2-5 design samples for review, ideally some to include social media samples. Working fluency of common social media platforms - especially Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, as well as cultivated excitement about this space. Steady access to internet and a computer. High-level organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and time management skills and ability to define and work to deadlines. Ability to work independently as well as in partnership with a team, and attend weekly team meetings as available.
PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Familiarity with social media management platforms like SproutSocial Experience with web design Familiarity with web content management software
