$____ per hour, depending on experience, plus commission on qualifying online sales generated through your marketing efforts About Create It Studio Create It Studio is an independent fabric and sewing shop in Acme, Washington. We are building a growing brand focused on fabric, quilting, sewing education, creative projects, community engagement and online sales. We are looking for a creative, outgoing sewing enthusiast to become a recognizable face of Create It Studio while helping us expand our online presence, increase sales and grow our sewing community. This is not a traditional social media internship. We are looking for someone who genuinely loves sewing and can combine that passion with content creation, teaching, marketing and sales. About the Position The Sewing and Textile Marketing Ambassador will work directly with the owner and store manager to create sewing content, showcase products, teach classes, promote the store and help turn social media engagement into measurable business growth. Your sewing skills are part of the job. During paid work time, you may sew projects that become class samples, product demonstrations, tutorial projects, store displays, guild presentations or marketing content. You will have the opportunity to develop your own creative voice while helping us build the Create It Studio brand. We are looking for someone who can look at a piece of fabric and immediately think, "I know exactly what I could make with that," and then inspire someone else to want to make it too. Key ResponsibilitiesContent Creation Create original sewing, quilting and textile content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and other appropriate platforms. Produce short form videos, tutorials, demonstrations and behind the scenes content. Appear on camera and develop a natural, recognizable personality for the Create It Studio brand. Sew projects that showcase fabrics, products, patterns, classes and techniques. Photograph and video projects for use in social media, online sales, newsletters, the website and other marketing materials. Edit and prepare content for publication using appropriate photography and video editing tools. Social Media and Marketing Develop and maintain a consistent social media presence. Create content that encourages engagement while also directing customers toward products, classes and online sales. Monitor engagement and sales results to determine which content is producing the strongest business results. Help develop and promote online Deal of the Day offers using unique promotional codes so sales generated through your marketing can be tracked. Assist with basic digital marketing, search optimization, keyword research and online promotions. Identify sewing and quilting trends that could be incorporated into future content and marketing campaigns. Help grow our online sewing community and strengthen relationships with customers, guilds, makers and other sewing organizations. Teaching and Community Engagement Teach our weekly quilt block class and other classes that match your skills and interests. Help develop new classes, demonstrations and educational content. Represent Create It Studio at sewing and quilting guild meetings and community events when appropriate. Develop presentations, demonstrations and promotional materials for guild visits. Help create meaningful relationships with local sewing communities and organizations. Brand Development Work directly with the owner and store manager on marketing strategy and brand development. Help shape the personality and voice of Create It Studio across social media and other marketing channels. Bring new ideas to the business and identify opportunities to reach more makers. Stay current with emerging social media platforms, content trends and technology. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who: Has a genuine passion for sewing, quilting, textiles or fabric arts. Is comfortable appearing on camera and communicating naturally with an audience. Can create and edit short form video content. Understands social media and knows how to create content people want to watch and share. Is creative, energetic and comfortable generating new ideas. Can teach and explain sewing concepts in a clear and approachable way. Has a personality that customers will remember. Is interested in learning how to turn content and community engagement into measurable sales. Is comfortable learning and using emerging technology, including artificial intelligence tools where appropriate. Can work independently while collaborating closely with the owner and store manager. Is organized and able to manage multiple creative projects. Lives within reasonable commuting distance of Acme, Washington, preferably in Whatcom or Skagit County. Experience Professional marketing experience is not required. We are more interested in your sewing ability, creativity, personality, communication skills and willingness to learn than in having a long marketing resume. Experience with social media platforms, photography, video editing, graphic design, digital marketing, teaching or sales is highly desirable. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, social media scheduling platforms, analytics tools or other digital marketing software is a plus. A degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, textile arts or a related field is welcome but not required. What Makes This Position Different We want to invest in a real person, not simply produce more generic online content. Artificial intelligence can help us with many parts of marketing, but it cannot replace a real maker who can sew a project, explain how it was made, demonstrate the process and inspire another person to create something of their own. Your creativity and sewing skills will be a meaningful part of the job. Projects created during paid work time for Create It Studio may be used for store displays, classes, demonstrations, tutorials, guild presentations, product marketing and future content. Performance and Growth We are serious about growing our online and in person business, and we are willing to make a six month investment in finding the right person and building this program. The goal is not simply to increase followers. We want to create content that contributes to measurable business growth. Online sales generated through your promotional efforts will be tracked through unique promotional codes and other available analytics. We expect the position to develop as the right person demonstrates their ability to create engaging content, build community and contribute to sales. This could be an excellent opportunity for a talented sewist who wants to develop real world experience in content creation, digital marketing, teaching, sales, brand development and the sewing industry while becoming a recognizable personality within the maker community.
