About Us The Chesapeake Inn is a small family owned luxury inn located in Urbanna, a small historic town on the Rapphannock River. We have just opened a Studio Sauna and Spa which caters both to our Inn guests and to locals; we offer yoga, sound baths, reiki and a variety of other experiences we believe help our guests find peace and return to themselves despite the chaos of daily life. iWe are dedicated to personalized hospitality, so our approach to many issues differs from other small hotels. We don't have a set check-in time; we prefer to work around our guests' schedules. At our spa, we offer our guests individual changing rooms and experiences without being rushed. Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and skilled Licensed Massage Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate is proficient in various modalities, client-focused, and eager to help clients and be part of a small fun team running the Inn, the Studio and our boutique.

Responsibilities and Duties Perform Therapeutic Services:

Deliver professional-quality massage sessions (e.g., Swedish, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, Sports) ranging from 45 to 120 minutes, tailored to individual client needs.

Client Assessment:

Meet with clients to discuss health history, identify pain points, and develop customized treatment plans.

Maintain Environment:

Keep treatment rooms clean, safe, and organized; sanitize equipment and change linens between sessions.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate, confidential client records and progress notes.

Team Collaboration:

Assist with general spa operations and the Inn as needed and as permitted given massage commitments.

Qualifications and Skills Licensure:

Valid State Massage Therapy License/Certification.

Education:

Graduate of an accredited massage therapy school.

Experience:

Proven experience in a spa or clinical setting is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply; we didn't know how to run an Inn when we bought it, so we understand that life experience matters!

Techniques:

Expertise in deep tissue and Swedish massage is required; knowledge of additional modalities (hot stone, reflexology etc) is a plus.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication, empathy, and even creativity; we'd love someone who can help us dream up new experiences for our guests.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform consecutive treatments.
