Job Description

Our client in Peabody, MA is a privately held sheet metal fabrication and machining company founded in 1985. It operates a large manufacturing facility (about 60,000 sq. ft.) and specializes in precision sheet metal parts, CNC machining, stamping, welding, and mechanical assemblies. The company serves industries such as medical devices, aerospace/defense, electronics, and energy storage, focusing on high-tolerance, custom-engineered metal components.
Salary:
$30-$35/hour, negotiable based on experience
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with strong Mastercam programming skills to join a growing manufacturing team in Peabody, MA. This role involves setting up, operating, programming, and maintaining CNC mills and/or lathes to produce high-precision components in a fast-paced, quality-driven production environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to produce precision parts Program and edit CNC code using Mastercam Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine settings for production runs Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to maintain production efficiency Maintain tight tolerances and ensure all parts meet quality standards Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe work environment Meet production schedules and deadlines while maintaining quality standards
Qualifications:
3+ years of CNC machining experience preferred Strong Mastercam programming experience required Experience with CNC mills and/or lathes Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work independently and in a team environment Experience in precision manufacturing environments preferred Multi-axis machining, CAD/CAM knowledge, and tight-tolerance experience a plus
