Description Description The Material Coordinator ensures the right materials are available at the right time to support efficient production of laminated wood cabinetry. This role manages material flow from purchasing through delivery to the production floor, maintains accurate inventory levels, and coordinates closely with production, purchasing, and logistics teams. Success in this position is defined by material accuracy, minimal production downtime, and smooth coordination across departments. Key Responsibilities Coordinate the flow of raw materials, hardware, and components required for laminated wood cabinetry production. Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts, system updates, and reconciliation of discrepancies. Monitor material usage and anticipate shortages based on production schedules and order forecasts. Communicate daily with production supervisors to understand material needs, changes, and priorities. Work with purchasing to track open orders, expedite materials, and resolve supplier issues. Stage materials for production lines and ensure timely delivery to workstations. Review job travelers, cut lists, and BOMs to verify material requirements. Identify and report damaged, incorrect, or missing materials and coordinate corrective actions. Maintain organized material storage areas, ensuring proper labeling, rotation, and safety compliance. Support continuous improvement efforts related to material flow, waste reduction, and efficiency. Assist with receiving activities, including verifying shipments and updating inventory systems. Collaborate with logistics to coordinate outbound shipments and ensure finished goods have required materials. Prepare documentation, reports, and system entries related to material movement and inventory accuracy. Requirements High school diploma required; associate degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred. Experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or material handling strongly preferred. Familiarity with laminated wood products, cabinetry components, or woodworking materials is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to read production schedules, BOMs, and material specifications. Proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office. Ability to lift and move materials as needed (up to company-defined weight limits). Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
