Job Description:
The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials within a manufacturing environment specifically assembly. This position is responsible for distributing materials and products throughout the production areas, supporting the overall manufacturing process. The Material Handler ensures that part flow is facilitated timely order fulfillment and minimizing production downtime. This role requires close collaboration with warehouse teams, production staff, and logistics personnel to maintain a safe and organized work environment. Ultimately, the Material Handler contributes to operational excellence by optimizing material movement and supporting continuous production schedules.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks. Basic knowledge of warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, and inventory control. Ability to read and interpret barcodes and use warehouse management systems. Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials and stand for extended periods.Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Forklift certification or equivalent training. Familiarity with assembly line processes and production support. Experience working with computerized inventory management systems. Demonstrated ability to work flexible hours including overtime when required.Responsibilities:
Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts to move materials safely and efficiently. Perform order picking and packing duties accurately to prepare shipments for delivery or production use. Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and properly store materials in designated locations. Utilize warehouse management systems and barcode scanning technology to track inventory and update records in real time. Assist with assembly line support by delivering required materials and components to production areas as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety protocols and reporting any hazards or equipment malfunctions. Work overtime as necessary to meet production deadlines and support peak operational periods.Skills:
