GENERAL JOB SUMMARY
The Material Handler Assistant will perform administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Assists with checking goods received and for distribution against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of goods and rejects unsatisfactory items. Packages and prepares products for final shipment. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist with receiving incoming materials, supplies, and equipment; verify counts and inspect for damage. Support inventory control tasks such as labeling, organizing stock, and performing cycle counts. Help stage materials for production or assembly lines according to work orders. Learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for material movement and storage. Use basic warehouse systems or ERP tools to update material quantities, locations, or transaction logs (with supervision). Assist in preparing outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation. Move materials using manual handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks), as allowed for interns and safety trained personnel. Maintain cleanliness and organization of stock areas, shelves, and workstations. Participate in safety training and follow facility safety guidelines. Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, and production teams to support workflow. Performs other duties as assigned.

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Shop floor environment / workbench or workstation. Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrist, using hand tools). Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
