Material Handler Forklift Operator

Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse. Conduct routine inspections and basic repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Assist with order picking using electronic warehouse management systems and manual methods to fulfill customer orders accurately. Manage shipping and receiving processes by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation. Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly and coordinate repairs when necessary. Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing inventory, stacking pallets, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to optimize workflow, improve safety procedures, and meet operational goals. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, or order pickers in a warehouse setting. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and order processing. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to materials handling and heavy equipment operation. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting. Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting, load & unload tasks, and extended periods of standing or walking. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately. Warehouse experience including shipping & receiving procedures and order picking techniques.
