Material Handler/Forklift Operator

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing materials movement, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring the safe handling of goods throughout our distribution center. Your proactive approach and mechanical aptitude will contribute to smooth warehouse operations, accurate order fulfillment, and timely shipping and receiving processes. Responsibilities Safely operate various types of forklifts, including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo, and pallet jacks, to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse. Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues to ensure optimal operation of heavy equipment. Handle materials with care during loading and unloading processes, utilizing proper lifting techniques to prevent injury and damage. Maintain organized storage areas by stacking pallets safely, managing inventory locations, and adhering to safety standards outlined by OSHA. Support warehouse supervision by following established procedures for warehouse distribution, inventory control, and safety compliance. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts (reach truck, clamp truck, Hi-Lo), pallet jacks, or similar machinery in a warehouse environment. Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment repair is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining proper ergonomics. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to materials handling and heavy equipment operation. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced setting. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors. Pay:

$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
