Job Description

Auto Warehousing (AWC) has been family-owned and operated for more than 50 years and is North America's leader in finished vehicle logistics. Our mission is to service customer vehicles safely, efficiently, with quality and pride. Our Associates are the reason for our success, and developing their talent remains critical to our future. AWC is hiring a full time Material Handling Support at our Baltimore Fairfield location (Curtis Bay area). The shift is days Monday-Friday. We are looking at June 15th starts, however there will be paid training prior to the project start date. This position comes with a competitive hourly paid weekly and a wonderful family atmosphere. Summary of position:
​ The Material Handling Support position works closely with hourly associates, AWC staff, the customer, and supplier representatives. The primary objective of this role is to support daily production by: Supplying materials to the production area Breaking down and disposal of dunnage Disposing of waste materials This description provides a general overview of the role and is not intended to be a complete list of all responsibilities. Duties may change at any time without notice.
Essential Functions, Duties and Tasks:
Coordinate the breakdown, disposition, and removal of disposable production dunnage Separate the non-recyclable materials and debris from the recyclable Break down the cardboard dunnage and prepare for bundling Separate cardboard dunnage from wood pallet Load cardboard into bailer until bailer reaches full capacity Cycle bailer machine and manually band cardboard dunnage, preparing it for pick up Utilizing pallet jack, replenish Zone 2 production with bulk load floor production materials Produce the appropriate level of primed fiber glass panels for production Utilize VIPS to determine the appropriate type, color, and quantity of panels to produce Prepares work station and mixes primer, at the beginning of the shift Obtains the appropriate panel from inventory and inspects for quality defects Reports all defects to the department supervisor Cleans and prepares surface, and applies primer Delivers completed panels to Zone 2 of the production area Assemble and replenish Kitting Carts to the appropriate production area Obtain work order from each vehicle and verify the VIN of vehicle is the VIN on the work order Determine build type and appropriate Kitting Cart Deliver Kitting Cart to the designated area in the proper work station Monitor production area and return cart to the materials department Restock lower shelving area with bulk material, utilizing pallet jack Disposition unused air bags for proper disposal Unload small lot materials from shipping container onto inventory rack
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Work with limited supervision Excellent communication skills Ability to utilize handheld radio Ability to function effectively under pressure Ability to pass driver's safety test at 80% or better Good visual ability
Education, Experience & Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent 6 months experience or vocational education in manufacturing and assembly Mechanical aptitude Associate must be able to work as part of a team and work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills
