Job Description

Description Summary:
Performs receiving, inspects and delivery duties for the Stockroom or to the user departments as directed. Completes designated departmental requisitions, picks and delivers inventory items to user departments. Packs and prepares items for shipping, prepares and maintains shipping records, and posts weights and shipping charges by department. These services are provided in a professional timely matter and with the constant awareness that the quality of the department's services have a direct impact on the institution's ability to provide excellent patient care. The associate may be called upon to perform duties of driver if the need shall occur. The job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Associate may be required to perform other reasonable related job duties.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for
Receiving, Inspection, and Delivery of Incoming Materials, Supplies, and Equipment:
Receives incoming materials, supplies, and equipment and compares information on packing slip with the purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment. Inspects shipments for damages and defects, recording discrepancies or damages in shipment and notifies the appropriate buyer. Ensures equipment and computer related items are properly labeled, inspected and delivered to appropriate department for setup and distribution (IM, Plant Ops, Biomed) Delivers items to requesting department and obtains signatures for accepted items. Demonstrates concern for the appropriate receipt, distribution and utilization of supplies. Performs necessary Computer related skills to help maintain the Receiving and Issuing functions of the
Materials Management System:
Responsible for scanning packing slips daily and attaching to the appropriate purchase order of the MM system. Prints, picks, and keys issues on the designated packing list (requisition) for supplies. Key receipts in MM system using vendor packing slip or clears manual purchase orders. Tags all merchandise for appropriate delivery to departments. These functions must be performed in a timely fashion and should have high degree of accuracy for the system to function appropriately. Maintains deliveries of inventory items per the written schedule. Files daily the delivery tickets for supplies in the department. Demonstrates concern for the appropriate receipt, distribution, and utilization of supplies. Assist with the physical inventory counts as scheduled or deemed necessary. These counts may be conducted weekly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annual basis. Support Operational functions in the
Stockroom:
Assist in packaging and processing out going shipments via
UPS, FED
ESX, distribution truck, or common carrier. Responsible for housekeeping duties in the stockroom. Responsible for rotating and keeping supplies in the designated area as assigned by numbering locations and shelf labels. Keep track of and maintain storeroom equipment such as carts, two wheelers, flat beds, and pallet jacks. Responsible for
Mail Sorting and Posting:
Responsible for sorting the incoming mail and routing to appropriate departments. Posts outgoing mail daily
Requirements:
Education/Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to operate computer equipment for receiving supplies, furniture, and equipment. Federal Express and UPS outbound shipping. Must be able to push and/or pull delivery carts and pallet jack. Experience Previous warehouse experience preferred. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications Must meet facility requirements for insurance coverage and complete required driver safety course.
