Compensation:
$125,000-$135,000 + 10%
Bonus Eligible Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (flexible, on-call as needed)

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship About the Role We are seeking a Materials Manager to lead all materials operations at our automotive manufacturing facility in Vance, AL. This role is critical in ensuring efficient material flow in a lean, just-in-time (JIT) environment supporting automotive seating systems production. You will oversee inventory control, supplier coordination, logistics, and materials planning while partnering with cross-functional leadership to drive operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Materials Department , including: 1 Assistant Materials Manager (direct report) 6+ Materials Specialists (indirect reports) Oversee material planning, scheduling, and inventory control in a JIT environment Monitor supplier shipments and ensure on-time delivery to meet production demands Analyze inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies Manage SAP Warehouse / Inventory Systems Coordinate bill of materials (BOM) and material releases Drive supplier performance improvement (quality, delivery, cost) Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, production, and leadership teams Lead continuous improvement initiatives (lean, waste reduction, cycle time) Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships Oversee transportation and logistics planning Manage departmental budgeting and cost control Lead hiring, training, and development of materials staff Ensure compliance with safety standards and TS16949 requirements Conduct and support physical inventory audits Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field 5+ years of experience in materials management, logistics, or supply chain in manufacturing Leadership experience managing materials or warehouse teams Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Knowledge of:
Inventory control systems Warehousing operations Manufacturing processes and material flow Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work both strategically and hands-on on the plant floor Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in a related field Experience in automotive manufacturing Experience in a JIT seating or supplier environment Advanced SAP expertise Work Environment Plant-based role with hands-on involvement Non-union facility High-volume, fast-paced automotive manufacturing setting Equal Opportunity Employer We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
