March 18 - May 8, or until the position is filled General Job Description Jefferson County Joint Vocational School is seeking a qualified and motivated High School Mathematics Teacher (Grades 7-12) to join our team. The successful candidate will work with students from our partner districts while supporting the mission of career and technical education. Qualifications
  • Valid Ohio teaching license in Integrated Mathematics (Grades 7-12) or equivalent certification
  • Strong knowledge of high school mathematics curriculum and instructional strategies
  • Ability to connect mathematics concepts to real-world and career-technical applications
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with academic and career-technical instructors
  • Commitment to building positive relationships with students and supporting student success Responsibilities
  • Teach mathematics courses aligned with Ohio Learning Standards
  • Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and maintain accurate records
  • Utilize technology and data to support student learning
  • Collaborate with staff, administration, and partner schools
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and other assigned duties
  • Support the school's mission of preparing students for careers and postsecondary success Employment Status
  • 184-day teacher contract Salary and Benefits Placement on the salary schedule will be based on educational level and teaching experience. Benefits include:

  • Sick leave and personal leave Evaluation Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation. Working Conditions Exposure to the following conditions may range from remote to frequent based on circumstances and factors that may not be predictable:
  • Potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue
  • Interaction with agitated or upset individuals
  • Interaction with disruptive or unruly students
  • Exposure to student commotion
  • Exposure to adverse weather conditions and seasonal temperature extremes
  • Operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions
  • Telephone contact and paperwork
  • Meeting deadlines and schedules
  • Working during evenings and/or weekends Occasional physical requirements may include lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items up to 40 pounds (100 pounds on wheels) such as paper boxes, supplies, or equipment deliveries.
Frequent ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, kneel, climb, and stoop is required. Title VI, VII (Civil Rights Act of 1964), Equal Pay Act of 1963, Title IX, and Section 504 regulations are followed. PN-Math-426
