Location:
Sumterville, FL What you'll do:- Perform supply chain and logistics functions, which may include, but are not limited to material procurement, MRO procurement, outsourcing, vendor selection, production scheduling, capacity planning, and order fulfillment.
- Control the monthly checkbook for MRO spending in conjunction with the Accounting Department.
- Compile data on order volume, forecasts and apply statistical methods to estimate future material requirements and stocking levels.
- Negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers.
- Correct and research variances for AP items on-hold (PO vs. quantity received vs. Invoice)
- Plan, schedule and monitor inbound movement of materials from suppliers
- Plan, schedule and monitor internal production schedules to optimize material flow
- Develop and maintain rough capacity plans to balance backlog against production capability.
- Able to use and troubleshoot MRP systems
- Manage MRP parameters, lead times, and lot sizes, and collaborate with engineering and production to optimize master data. What you'll need:
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Strong MRP skills
- Problem solving skillset to improve MRP
- 5-7 years of manufacturing experience preferred
- 3-5 years of procurement of steel purchasing and/or production scheduling.
- Associates degree preferred or equal experience
Working Conditions:
- Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.
- This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
- Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
- Sitting for long periods of time in computer environment Safety Activities
- Be aware of and observe all safety practices. Including but not limited to- Safety glasses, safety boots, hearing protection, etc… as required
- Know and follow all safety rules and procedures.
- Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned.
