Meat Apprentice

Pay Range:

$20.00- $22.00 SUMMARY Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Trained to be responsible for cutting all meat in accordance with trim specifications and guidelines. Trained to ensure the quality of the meat products cut for display in the meat case to promote optimal opportunity for sales. Responsible for learning to provide excellent customer service and courtesy on an on-going basis. Must learn to adhere to all corporate and state sanitation procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Consistently work within to provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times. Responsible for smiling, making eye contact and thanking customer upon fulfilling customer's request. Maintain a neat, clean and organized workstation at all times. Responsible for cutting and preparing meat using knives, saws, cubers and grinders. Responsible for ensuring proper wrapping, weighing, and labeling of meat merchandise. Learn to Exhibit a high level of customer courtesy and service at all times (internal and external). Responsible for adhering to all corporate meat department procedures and standards (i.e.: case layout and trim specifications). Responsible for adhering to proper sanitation guidelines (i.e.: refrigeration and N.Y.S. inspection standards). Responsible for receiving all meat products delivered at store location (i.e.: DSD and warehouse deliveries). Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of age. Satisfactory Performance Reviews. Basic Literacy Basic Computer skills. Strong communication skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

At least 6-12 months of related experience.
