Job Description

WHO ARE WE?
Shore Lodge Whitetail Club is a private residential community, 18 hole golf course, full season club, and resort located in the mountains of Central Idaho. Our golf maintenance department manages all club and resort amenities including landscaped areas as well as community property. We are a year-round club with a seasonal golf offering, and during the winter season, we maintain cross country ski trails, snowshoeing routes, a sledding hill, skating and other amenities. Our department is based out of a modern maintenance facility with a well-maintained robust fleet of equipment. The Equipment Manager is passionate about finding solutions to keep all our vehicles and equipment running smoothly, and provide up to date record keeping, preventative maintenance and repairs; is a problem solver with a strong work ethic and understands that equipment safety, safe operation and maintenance are a priority, The position is focused on team, member, and guest satisfaction.
SUMMARY:
Our Equipment Manager is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and safe operation of all golf course maintenance equipment, snow removal equipment, snow groomers, vehicles, and related machinery. This position ensures all equipment is kept in optimal working condition through preventative maintenance, skilled repairs, and proper operator training.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
Equipment Maintenance & Repair Inspect, diagnose, adjust, and repair mechanical defects on a variety of golf course maintenance equipment, light and heavy construction machinery, and automotive apparatus. Perform mower grinding/sharpening, reel and motor overhauls, brake installations, and adjustments. Conduct machining and welding work to fabricate fittings or parts for equipment repairs. Maintain knowledge of internal combustion engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems, including wiring, diagnostics, and repairs. Perform general vehicle fleet maintenance, repair, and servicing. Maintain and record repairs made, parts ordered and inventory. Preventative Maintenance & Inventory Diagnose mechanical issues, develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all equipment. Order repair parts and replacement supplies as needed, tracking expenses and maintaining accurate inventory records for budget purposes. Ensure all maintenance activities and repairs are documented accurately. Workplace Organization & Safety Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked maintenance area. Adhere to and promote safety standards in all work practices. Training & Leadership Assist in training staff on proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures. Provide effective orientation for new employees as it relates to equipment use and upkeep. Participate in the development and delivery of ongoing training programs. Customer Service & Collaboration Work closely with the management team to ensure equipment availability and performance meet operational needs. Provide excellent service to support overall guest satisfaction. Communicates any changes or new policies and procedures to the department. Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed, and other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
Minimum of 5 years Mechanical experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2+ years supervisory experience. Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems knowledge. Skilled in the use of a wide range of repair tools and equipment. Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical manuals and schematics. Experience in training and supervising staff. Mechanics Certificate from Gas and Diesel Engine Training. Strong commitment for a safe respectful work place. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Effective organizational, time management, and recordkeeping skills. Ability to read and follow instructions, write reports, and speak clearly to groups. Perform basic math, fractions, decimals, and calculate rates/percentages. Handle varied problems and follow written, verbal, or visual instructions. Good near/far, color, side vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Ability to be flexible with weekends and holidays.
