Job Description

About Us At Star Truck & Trailer Place , we keep Texas rolling. From heavy-duty trailers to custom hookups, we're known for quality work, fast turnaround, and honest service. We're looking for a skilled Service Technician who takes pride in getting the job done right — someone who enjoys hands-on work, troubleshooting, and keeping rigs road-ready. About the Role As a Service Technician , you'll perform repairs, maintenance, and installations on trailers and truck connections — focusing on electrical systems, lighting, brakes, axles, wiring, and general mechanical work . This role does not involve engine repair — it's all about the structure, systems, and function of trailers and their connections. If you know your way around tools, can weld like a pro (or want to learn), and love solving mechanical challenges, we want to talk to you. What You'll Do Diagnose and repair electrical systems on trailers (lights, wiring harnesses, brake controllers, etc.). Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on trailer components — brakes, axles, bearings, suspension, and couplers. Install trailer hookups and wiring to ensure proper truck-to-trailer connection. Weld and fabricate components as needed (experience preferred but not required). Inspect trailers for safety and reliability, ensuring all work meets DOT standards. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Communicate clearly with the service team and customers about repair needs and completed work. What You'll Bring Hands-on mechanical and/or electrical repair experience. Working knowledge of trailer systems, wiring, and brakes preferred. Welding and fabrication skills strongly preferred (MIG or stick). Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship. Ability to diagnose problems and work independently once trained. Basic hand tools; specialty tools provided. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Why You'll Love Working Here Family-owned, Texas-proud shop with a loyal customer base. Steady, full-time work with room to grow. Supportive team that values craftsmanship, honesty, and teamwork. Competitive pay based on experience, plus benefits.
