Job Description
Success Goal To be an integral component to the efficient and smooth operations of Wheeler Trucking's delivery operations. Primary Function Mechanic provide well maintained vehicles for the fleet at Wheeler Trucking in accordance with company mission, vision, strategic plan, goals and DOT regulations. Performance Responsibilities-Essential Functions (Other duties may be assigned) Diagnoses mechanical problems; repairs and rebuilds on vehicle parts and equipment. Diagnose problems and repairs brakes, transmissions, rear-ends, and clutches, hydraulic systems, valves, pumps and electrical problems. Performs tune-ups on Drivers vehicles routinely as needed. Perform road testing for DOT mandates. Welds equipment as needed. Prepares shop work orders on equipment repair. Orders parts as needed to maintain stock; pick up parts. Makes service calls as needed. Cleans shop, storage area and parts room. Drives snow plow in emergency situations, as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Promotes and builds good working relationships with customer and staff of Wheeler Trucking. Embraces mission. Works with team; assists whenever needed or required. Communicates with facility supervisor on any problems as they occur. Occasional evening and weekends work may be required as job duties demand Reports all accidents and issues regarding personal safety and product safety to your supervisor immediately Attends department, locations, conference calls and meetings when necessary. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. High School Diploma or GED Willingness to comply with all company, local, state and federal regulations Possess a valid driver's license Certifications including transmission, brakes and electrical systems, etc. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
