This is a home-based position — you work regular shop hours, build deep familiarity with our fleet, and serve as the backbone of equipment readiness for our Civil and Gas Division project crews.

What You'll Do:
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and heavy construction equipment: oil changes, fluid services, filter replacements, lubrication, and inspections Diagnose and assist with repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems under guidance from senior mechanics Prepare and stage equipment for field deployment; verify readiness checklists before release to project sites Maintain accurate service records and work orders in the fleet management system Keep the shop organized, clean, stocked, and in safe working condition Assist with parts procurement and inventory management Participate in required training and certification programs to advance toward
Mechanic II What You'll Bring:
Required High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license and clean driving record Basic mechanical knowledge: engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, and electrical systems Ability to read service manuals and follow technical procedures Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. regularly and stand, bend, or work in confined positions for extended periods OSHA 10 required or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire Preferred 1+ years of experience as a mechanic on fleet vehicles or heavy construction equipment (or equivalent hands-on training) Experience in construction, civil infrastructure, or gas industries Vocational or technical training in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment, or a related field CDL a plus
