Job Title:
Mechanic II Job Description The Mechanic II works with moderately complex to highly complex mechanical equipment, focusing on disassembly, positioning, reassembly, testing, and finishing of components and systems. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, consistent attention to safety, and a commitment to maintaining an efficient, clean, and orderly work environment. You will use a wide range of tools and equipment to support mechanical assembly, teardown, repair, and testing activities while collaborating closely with a team in a service-oriented environment. Responsibilities + Follow all safety guidelines and environmental regulations at all times to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. + Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards by practicing proper housekeeping and tool management. + Use a variety of mechanical tools and equipment to perform assembly, teardown, and testing tasks on mechanical systems and components. + Perform risk assessments before beginning any operation or moving materials to identify and mitigate potential hazards. + Complete all required training and maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including service records and test reports. + Ensure shop tools and equipment remain in safe, functional condition by inspecting them regularly and reporting issues promptly. + Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or potential safety concerns to leadership or appropriate personnel. + Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow. + Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on mechanical systems, including diagnosing issues and implementing appropriate corrective actions. + Accurately complete all required paperwork, including job tickets, checklists, and maintenance records. + Set up and run test procedures based on engineering requirements and guidelines, ensuring proper operation and performance of equipment. + Work independently using engineering guidelines and technical documentation to complete assignments with minimal supervision. + Carry out additional tasks and duties as assigned by leadership to support operational needs and project deadlines. Essential Skills + High school diploma or GED . + At least 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly or disassembly, equipment repair, or heavy machinery maintenance. + Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, including identifying issues and implementing effective solutions. + Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering instructions. + Capability to set up and run test procedures based on engineering requirements. + Understanding of safety standards and proper housekeeping practices in a mechanical or shop environment. + Basic math skills and the ability to read schematics. + Familiarity with standard shop tools and equipment used for assembly, teardown, maintenance, and testing. + Valid driver's license. + Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays when needed. + Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling on a regular basis. + Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues. + Ability to work independently using engineering guidelines and minimal supervision. + Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail in all aspects of work. + Experience and skills in troubleshooting, maintenance, mechanical repair, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in service center or operations environments. + Knowledge of natural gas engines or compressor systems. + Exposure to or experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. + Comfort using a broad range of mechanical hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment. + Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records. + Reliability and flexibility to support varying work schedules and operational demands. Work Environment This position is based in a shop or service center environment that focuses on mechanical assembly, disassembly, repair, and testing of equipment. The role involves standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift, and may require overtime, weekend, or holiday work to meet operational needs. You will follow established safety standards, environmental regulations, and housekeeping practices to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace. Dress typically includes appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment suitable for a mechanical and shop environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00
  • $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
