GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION R-V
Industries is a design and build manufacturer of custom industrial process equipment. We engineer a wide variety of specialty equipment. Most of our equipment is built in-house by our own in-house fabricators, machinists, mechanical and electrical assemblers. Our Beta Star Division provides a line of steam autoclaves used primarily in the life science field. Our Autoclaves are a highly configurable standard product that address simple lab decontamination to c
GMP BSL 3
applications. Our product by provides market leading energy efficiency, process flexibility, and non-proprietary components backed by excellent service and support. The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the review of job specifications, verifying the autoclave configuration designed fulfills all specs, codes, and standards referenced. There are design standards to follow and manage for this specialized equipment along with continuous improvement initiatives to champion.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES
Apply fundamental engineering principles in the design, selection and application of Beta Star's products and services Review POs, specifications, and technical documentation to incorporate into the drawings, instructions, and bills of material Execute product enhancement and development projects including leading team evaluations of engineering change requests, defining scope of engineering changes, and verifying results of executed changes Perform calculations and maintain calculation set for ASME Section VIII audits and review Assist Sales, Project Managers, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, Testing and Installation with all technical issues related to the product Communicate with our customer's technical personnel in all matters related to design along with any other pertinent technical requirements Maintain documentation related to the technical aspects of a project Manage engineering share of budget and schedule
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills:
Minimum of 5 years progressive machine design experience including some or all of the following: Steam component selection Autoclaves or high-temperature high-pressure vessels Pneumatic actuator design Stress/failure calculations Sensor selection and implementation P&ID creation 3+ years of experience Solidworks (AutoCAD a plus) A genuine care for others and thrives in a team environment A passion for mechanical design and manufacturing methods Highly detail oriented for the purpose of creating and upholding design standards. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications Technical writing Sizing Components & Creating calculation packages Create and/or check layout & detailed drawings Write specs for buyout components Create Bills of Materials for purchasing and production Strong Communication & Organizational skills Willing to Train the
Right Candidate:
PDM implementation of Solidworks designs Project Management Experience cGMP validation protocols, cGMP design protocols, cGMP documentation protocols AWS Welding Symbols & Geometric Tolerancing Active PE License in the state of PA with machine design as your area of expertise is a plus
