Mechanical Engineer - Industrial Manufacturing / Power Equipment Peoria, Illinois (Commutable from: East Peoria, Morton, Creve Coeur, Bartonville, Pekin, Washington, Pottstown, Norwood) $80,000 - $90,000 + Specialist Training + Career Progression + Relocation Assistance + Excellent Company Benefits Are you a Mechanical Engineer with experience in industrial manufacturing, power systems, engines, or heavy mechanical equipment looking to join a market-leading manufacturer offering long-term progression, technical development, and hands-on engineering projects? On offer is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business where you will work on technically challenging mechanical systems, supporting both product design and manufacturing operations across the shop floor. This company has a strong reputation within the industrial manufacturing sector and is known for developing engineers into senior technical and leadership positions. You will work closely with project management, production, and engineering teams to support new and existing product lines while driving manufacturing efficiency and design improvements. In this role, you will be involved in mechanical design, reviewing customer specifications, supporting fabrication and assembly teams, and assisting with the development of engineered systems and production processes. You will play a key role between engineering and manufacturing operations to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and accurately. This role would suit a Mechanical Engineer with a background in industrial equipment, engines, power systems, manufacturing, or heavy mechanical assemblies who enjoys both design engineering and hands-on manufacturing support.
The Role:
Create and modify mechanical designs and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD Support fabrication, machining, assembly, and manufacturing teams on the shop floor Review customer specifications, technical drawings, and project requirements Coordinate with project management and production teams throughout project lifecycle Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization
The Person:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Experience within industrial manufacturing, power systems, engines, heavy equipment, or mechanical systems Proficient with AutoCAD and SolidWorks Comfortable working both in an engineering office and directly on the manufacturing floor Experience with fabrication, welding, piping, or industrial machinery is highly desirable
