About the Role We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Ethridge, TN. In this role, you will support both shop operations and customers while designing custom attachments for equipment such as excavators, loaders, and graders.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the full manufacturing lifecycle—including sales, engineering, job processing, and work orders—and ideally bring experience working with welded products.Job duties:
Shop & Manufacturing Support Support the development and optimization of shop equipment and manufacturing processes as a technical resource. Assist with drawing development, schematics, and documentation for tooling, assembly, and production. Create purchase kits and coordinate outsourcing requirements. Develop, document, and streamline shop processes to improve efficiency and product quality. Participate in CNC programming, CAM development, and injection molding processes to support precision manufacturing. Maintain accurate documentation of engineering changes and process updates. Sales & Field Support Provide day-to-day technical support to the sales team. Travel to customer or project sites as required to support sales activities. Gather dimensional and technical requirements to support quoting, design, and project execution. Engineering Coordination & Project Support Coordinate effectively between Engineering, Welding, and other production teams to support project execution and scheduling. Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes and improvements. Analyze production workflows and identify opportunities to optimize efficiency and reduce waste. Conduct feasibility assessments for new projects and provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle. Technical Skills & Tools Utilize 3D design software (preferably SolidWorks) to support design and manufacturing activities.Requirements:
Engineering Degree or 2-year post-secondary Mechanical Engineering course is preferable; other areas of study will be considered At least 5 years related work experience Experience in the attachment and/or heavy equipment industry an asset Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy Strong communication skills to work with other departments and locations Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment Strong computer skills including: SolidWorks (experience with other CAD Systems will be considered) Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Outlook What success looks like in your first 6 months: Success in this role is defined by your ability to contribute to efficient operations, deliver accurate technical solutions, and support both production and customer needs.
