Position Summary:
Clark Nexsen is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III who will be responsible for design, engineering, analysis, equipment selection, and system layout of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related mechanical building systems for Commercial and Government facilities. The successful candidate will have 5+ years of verifiable experience in the design of mechanical systems for buildings. Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in at least one state is required. This is an in-office position. General responsibilities include but are not limited to the following Perform various aspects of mechanical engineering design as directed by more experienced engineers or designers, including conceptual studies, program requirements, design analysis, calculations, equipment selection and layout, and system selection and layout for building design, upgrades, and retrofits. Meet with and present to clients. Coordinate with design team members to ensure that mechanical design elements integrate properly with all other disciplines represented on the project. Comply with the firm's quality control policies and procedures. Learn and implement department and company standards. Prepare project programming, schematic, design development, and construction document deliverables. Provide support services during the bidding process, i.e., prepare addenda and amendments, open bids, tabulate bids, etc. Provide construction phase services including representing the firm on-site, answering requests for information, reviewing shop drawings, preparing record drawings, etc. Coordinate with building commissioning professionals as required. Work with, respond to, and take direction from senior engineers, project managers, managing principals, and operations directors.
