The Facilities Mechanical Engineer I is an experienced individual who will support the facilities engineering team. As a Mechanical Engineer I, you will be an integral part of our engineering team, responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.Responsibilities:
- Apply Mechanical and Facilities engineering expertise for business planning operations.
- Support Facility Operations with Mechanical equipment design and specification.
- Apply analytical and trouble shooting skills to minimize mean time to recovery.
- Support operation of mechanical systems, including but not limited to centrifugal fans, burners, cooling/heating coils, pumps, centrifugal air compressors, centrifugal chillers, heat exchangers.
- Manage and/or support the bidding, evaluation, and selection process of contractors for the design and construction projects.
- Communicate critical updates to site management and system operators.
- Support training of Facilities Associates on enhancements to operations related to controls and mechanical systems.
- Work with departments outside of facilities on planned and unplanned projects requiring mechanical equipment modifications.
- Assure that site & building mechanical systems meet capacity and reliability requirements of the customer.
- Create roles and responsibility documents for quick reference and management of change.
- Implement new engineering strategies and technologies to replace facilities equipment and systems at their end of life (EOL).
- Lead and/or support in the bidding, evaluation, and selection process of contractors for the design and construction phase of a project.
- Review, verify and approve engineering/design drawings at the various design completion levels.
- Providing schedules, reports, & presentations to department and company leadership.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology required or Equivalent related Mechanical Engineering experience.
- 0-3+ years of experience developing, coordinating, and managing mechanical and/or facility related projects.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Positive attitude, open minded, and team player.
- Experience with control systems architecture and programming (EBO/Andover, Tridium, Siemens)
- Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor/develop team members.
- Strong subject matter knowledge of industrial mechanical systems from concept through final design and implementation as well as troubleshooting and repair.
- Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD capabilities.
- Prompt and regular attendance within our onsite operations.
- Flexibility to work adjusted shifts as necessary.
- Korean language proficiency a plus.
