Summary:
Perform Mechanical inspection of precision machined and finished parts and assemblies using a variety of hand tools, Optical Comparators, Micro-Hites and CMMs, including manual style CMMs (Reflex software) and automated CMMs (PCDMIS or Calypso software). Ensure the quality and reliability of products and services by verifying conformance to technical, quality requirements and customer specifications.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical inspection of machined parts, standards, and hardware utilizing surface plates, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), manual and or automated, calipers, bore gages, micrometers, MicroHite height gages, Optical Comparators and other precision measuring devices, instruments, and equipment.
- Perform first article and in process inspection by utilizing all tools mentioned in item above.
- Verify all outside services and testing documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Review all completed work orders, product documentations, test and inspection data to ensure entries are complete, accurate, and legible
- Ensure that material traceability, processing certification, assembly and testing of customer furnished, vendor-supplied products or services, or work in process meet internal and customer requirements. Required to prepare and present reports on Inspection findings.
- Interpret engineering drawings, process specification, diagrams, blueprints, test procedures, and customer specifications to verify compliance with technical specifications and customer requirements.
- Utilize on-line data systems and electronic media to verify customer data and specifications.
- Maintain quality records and files. May be asked to participate in quality audits and surveillances conducted by internal audit teams or customer representatives.
- Work independently with minimal supervision. Prioritize work in order to meet commitments and deadlines. Meet established standards for productivity and quality. Confer with supervisor when problems arise which impact expected level of performance.
- Support and maintain Quality Policy, Lean concepts, 5 "S" and continuous improvement standards.
- Contribute to a positive work environment.
- Responsible for supporting and ensuring compliance to
ISO13485/ISO9000
Quality Management System.Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 5 years inspection related experience
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient with surface plate inspection methodologies, shop math, and mechanical inspection instruments, and blueprints.
- Basic knowledge of QMS systems and GD&T.
- CMM experience using both manual style CMMs (Reflex software) and automated CMMs (PCDMIS software).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to express concepts effectively.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills including, but not limited to, contributing to a team oriented environment, balancing team and individual responsibilities, and keeping emotions under control.
- Must have vision acuity of 20/30 or better in either eye and shall be able to read the Jaeger No.
