Job Description

Qualifications Education, Experience, and Certifications High school diploma or GED required; technical school or apprenticeship preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with antique or classic automobiles. Experience with carburetors, mechanical ignition systems, and non-electronic fuel systems. ASE Certification preferred. CDL licenses required. Required Skills and Competencies Extensive knowledge of antique automotive mechanical systems. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret vintage service manuals and schematics. Precision workmanship and attention to detail. Must be able to fabricate or modify parts as needed. Ability to work independently and manage restoration projects. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Physical Demands Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Work Environment Work is performed in an automotive shop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, oils, solvents, and mechanical equipment. Proper safety equipment and procedures are required. Responsibilities Job Summary The Antique Automobile Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and restoration of antique, classic, and vintage automobiles. This role requires advanced mechanical expertise, craftsmanship, and a strong understanding of historical automotive systems to preserve authenticity while ensuring safe operation. Drive 18 wheel tractor trailer as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain antique and classic vehicles, typically manufactured prior to computerized systems. Perform mechanical repairs on engines, transmissions, drivetrains, braking systems, steering, suspension, fuel, and cooling systems. Restore and rebuild mechanical components while preserving historical accuracy. Rebuild engines, carburetors, manual transmissions, and mechanical fuel systems. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using traditional diagnostic techniques. Fabricate, modify, or source obsolete or hard-to-find parts as needed. Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections. Periodically driver 18 wheel tractor trailer vehicle as needed Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, restorations, and parts used. Follow all safety, environmental, and workplace policies. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
