Mechanic:
Maint who leads from the front, and knows how to get the best out of a team. Key Responsibilities Vehicle Maintenance:
Perform diagnostic tests, maintenance, and repairs on diesel-powered waste management trucks and heavy equipment, including rear-load, front-load, and roll-off trucks.
Preventive Care:
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance services, including engine checks, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire replacements.
Repairs and Replacements:
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and replace worn or damaged parts, such as brake systems, engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and air systems.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure that all repairs and maintenance activities adhere to safety standards, environmental regulations, and company protocols.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, hours worked, and services performed.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other mechanics and supervisors to prioritize repairs and efficiently manage the fleet maintenance schedule.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
working as a diesel mechanic, preferably with waste management, heavy equipment, or truck fleets preferred.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and air brake systems. Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
Tools and Equipment:
Experience using diagnostic tools, mechanical hand tools, and power tools to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
Certifications:
A valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is a plus.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training in diesel mechanics is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 70lbs and perform tasks in varying weather conditions, including working in tight spaces and on heavy equipment. Attention to

Strong organizational skills and the ability to track and manage multiple repair projects simultaneously.
