Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Mechatronics Instructor specializing in Building Systems and Automation to join our educational team. In this role, you will deliver engaging instruction on advanced building automation technologies, mechanical systems, and electrical components, empowering students to excel in modern manufacturing, construction, HVAC, and maintenance environments. Your expertise will help shape future professionals by providing hands-on training, curriculum development, and industry-relevant skills that meet current technological standards. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive lessons on programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HVAC/R systems, electrical systems, plumbing, welding, and mechanical knowledge tailored to building automation and mechatronics. Develop and update curriculum content to reflect industry advancements and ensure alignment with educational standards and OSHA safety regulations. Facilitate practical training using tools such as Blackboard learning management system, ensuring students gain real-world experience in automotive diagnostics, aircraft maintenance, HVAC systems, and manufacturing processes. Assess student progress through evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support adult learners in achieving their educational goals. Maintain a safe classroom environment by enforcing OSHA guidelines and promoting best practices in safety procedures during hands-on activities. Collaborate with industry partners to incorporate current trends in construction, maintenance, HVAC/R, and automation into instructional materials. Support students in developing essential skills such as electrical troubleshooting, mechanical repair, automation programming, and system diagnostics. Skills Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical systems, HVAC/R systems, automotive diagnostics, plumbing, welding, and mechanical principles. Experience with curriculum development for technical education programs focused on building systems and automation. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards applicable to manufacturing, construction, aircraft maintenance, HVAC/R environments. Demonstrated ability to teach young adult learners effectively in classroom or workshop settings with prior classroom experience preferred. Practical experience in industries such as manufacturing, construction, aircraft maintenance or related fields that involve electrical work and mechanical repair. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and engagingly.
