Med Surg Step Down RN

Duties Perform frequent, detailed patient assessments and continuous cardiac or hemodynamic monitoring. Manage titratable intravenous (IV) drips, ventilators, and complex airway devices. Identify early warning signs of clinical deterioration and quickly escalate care or initiate emergency interventions. Coordinate the safe transfer of patients stepping down from the ICU or preparing to move to a general med-surg unit. Educate patients and their families on post-hospital recovery and wellness plans. Qualifications BLS and New York State (NYS) license required. ACLS required. Must have minimum 2 years of current experience. Travel experience preferred. Floating to MS is required. Every Other Weekend/Holiday is required. Must have strong IV skills, confident working with cardiac drips, reading EKG strips, and all types of wound care. NIH Stroke Cert required before start.

Pay:

$65.00 - $73.00 per hour
