Medicaid Specialist - Temporary Reports to:
Director of Accounts Receivable Education :
Associate degree or 3+ years' equivalent experience Required experience:
Mass Health Insurance/Insurance Application Processor Schedule :
Full-time, 30-40 hours per week, M-F, in-house position. Monday to Friday between 8am- 5pm. Pay Range (depending on experience): $20.00 to $24.00 per hour Position Overview The Medicaid Specialist is responsible for managing Medicaid applications, re-determinations, and approvals to ensure timely and accurate financial eligibility for residents. This role works closely with facility Business Office teams and families to guide the Medicaid process from start to finish. Key Responsibilities Manage Medicaid pending applications, re-determinations, and conversions Ensure accurate and timely completion of all Massachusetts Medicaid forms and documentation Meet with residents and families to gather information and provide guidance throughout the application process Monitor, track, and document progress of Medicaid cases to ensure timely approvals Communicate resident financial responsibility, including patient liability requirements Respond to denials, including preparing appeals and reapplications as needed Qualifications Proven experience with Massachusetts Medicaid application process (required) Prior experience in a nursing home or long-term care setting strongly preferred Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel between facilities
