Location:
Park Ridge, IL Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists of IL is seeking an experienced Medical Accounts Receivable (A/R) Billing Specialist to join our busy, multi‑provider practice. This role is responsible for managing various A/R functions, working aging buckets, improving revenue performance, and handling insurance and patient A/R, appeals, and collections. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of medical billing, coding, payer guidelines, and A/R workflows and analytical knowledge of the A/R trends. This is NOT a remote position. Billing companies—please do not apply. Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable Work all aging buckets to reduce outstanding A/R. Follow up on unpaid claims, balances, appeals, and denials within required timeframes. Analyze EOBs, identify denial codes, and make appropriate corrections. Manage insurance and patient A/R, including appeals and collections. Maintain accuracy in recoupment processes and account balancing. Ensure accurate posting and reconciliation of payments. Insurance Knowledge Strong understanding of private and government payer guidelines. Knowledge of PPO, HMO, POS, Workers' Compensation, and SNF consolidated billing. Communicate clearly with patients regarding benefits and financial responsibilities. General Expectations Respond to patient and insurance inquiries in a timely manner. Work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision. Multitask effectively and follow instructions accurately. Maintain HIPAA compliance and proper handling of patient records. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience working on unpaid claims, A/R, appeals, and denials. 1-2 years of medical billing experience required; ENT experience is a plus. Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is a plus. Strong customer service and communication skills. Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Self‑motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
