Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your energy and dedication will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will support physicians and healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks that ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality service. Your expertise in various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital environments, and specialized units such as dermatology, emergency medicine, or geriatrics, will be essential to delivering exceptional patient experiences. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment committed to excellence. Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, and oxygen saturation to support clinical assessments. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. Support physicians with procedures including medication administration, wound care, X-ray positioning, and basic life support (BLS) when needed. Manage medical documentation with precision, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to ensure compliance and billing accuracy. Perform clinical tasks across diverse specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, hospital medicine, urgent care, or trauma centers—Level I and Level II trauma experience preferred. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols for inpatient and outpatient settings. Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all patients. Support administrative functions such as appointment scheduling, follow-up calls, and managing patient flow within busy clinics or hospital units like PICU or OR environments. Experience Prior experience working in outpatient clinics or hospital settings is highly desirable; familiarity with hospital medicine or emergency medicine enhances your candidacy. Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology across various specialties including geriatrics, medical-surgical units, or ICU environments. Hands-on experience with EHR systems for documentation and order entry is essential; proficiency in ICD coding is a plus. Background working in fast-paced environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers provides valuable insight into emergency procedures and inpatient care workflows. Strong understanding of medical terminology combined with practical skills in medication administration and vital sign collection. Experience supporting diverse patient populations across age groups—from pediatric ICU (PICU) to geriatric care—demonstrates adaptability and compassion. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to X-ray operation or specific clinical procedures are advantageous. Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly contribute to healing lives! We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment that values your growth while providing comprehensive training opportunities to elevate your expertise in the healthcare field.
