Responsibilities Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, recording vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding of the process Administer medications and injections following proper protocols, including basic life support procedures when necessary Support clinical staff with diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging or specimen collection in outpatient or hospital settings Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, ICD coding for diagnoses, and procedure details in compliance with healthcare regulations Support emergency medicine teams at Level I and Level II trauma centers by providing immediate patient care assistance Manage medical supplies inventory, sterilization processes, and ensure clinical areas are clean and organized Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in diverse settings such as dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and patient care procedures across various specialties including geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or medical-surgical units Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or X-ray are advantageous Familiarity with EHR systems for accurate documentation and ICD coding practices Experience supporting inpatient care at Level I or Level II trauma centers is preferred Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service and teamwork in fast-paced environments Embark on a rewarding career where your dedication enhances patient outcomes every day!
