In this vital role, you will provide essential support to nursing staff and deliver high-quality, personalized care to individuals across various healthcare settings. Whether working in hospitals, long-term care facilities, or community-based environments, you'll be at the forefront of promoting health, comfort, and dignity for those in your care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills while contributing to a compassionate, patient-centered environment. Duties Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility using appropriate techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring accurate documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medication administration under supervision, adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to maintain patient safety. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in diverse settings such as medical-surgical units, ICU, emergency departments, pediatrics, geriatrics, hospice care, and behavioral health units. Maintain infection control standards by practicing proper aseptic techniques and managing infectious disease protocols. Assist with medical procedures like catheter care or phlebotomy when trained and authorized. Use medical terminology accurately to document patient records and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals. Support patients with developmental disabilities or those requiring home & community care services through compassionate caregiving approaches. Operate patient lifts such as Hoyer lifts safely to prevent injury and promote comfort during transfers. Experience Prior experience working in hospital environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly valued. Demonstrated expertise in critical care settings including ICU or emergency medicine enhances your ability to respond swiftly in urgent situations. Experience with medical-surgical units, post-acute care facilities, outpatient clinics, or home care services is preferred. Knowledge of EMR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks is advantageous for efficient documentation and patient record management. Familiarity with caring for patients with complex needs such as infectious diseases, behavioral health conditions, or those requiring hospice or palliative care is a plus. Working with children in pediatric units or PICU experience adds valuable versatility to your skill set. Certifications in basic life support (BLS) and other relevant healthcare training are required to ensure readiness for emergency response situations.
