Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, medical procedures, and administrative support within diverse clinical settings. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient experiences, supporting physicians and healthcare professionals, and maintaining efficient clinic operations. Your expertise in medical terminology, anatomy, and various clinical procedures will contribute significantly to delivering high-quality care. 20-35 hours per week. Responsibilities Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, updating records, and verifying insurance information using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration to support accurate patient assessments. Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort. Support clinical procedures including medication administration, wound care, basic X-ray imaging, and specimen collection. Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of clinical equipment and treatment areas in compliance with health standards. Document patient interactions accurately using medical terminology and ICD coding for diagnoses and treatments. Assist with hospital medicine or outpatient services, including inpatient care coordination when necessary. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, offering reassurance, and ensuring a positive experience throughout the visit. Support emergency medicine or Level I/II trauma center activities by assisting with urgent assessments and procedures as directed. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across specialties such as geriatrics, internal medicine, pediatrics (PICU), or surgical units to optimize patient outcomes. Experience Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or urgent care settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions. Experience supporting dermatology clinics or surgical environments such as the operating room (OR) is advantageous. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) certification is required. Exposure to hospital environments including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers enhances candidacy. Previous involvement in medical-surgical units or geriatrics care provides valuable insight into diverse patient populations. Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures across various specialties such as internal medicine or emergency medicine is essential.
