Title:

Phlebotomist Responsibilities Perform 25-30 blood draws per shift using venipuncture techniques, including straight needles and butterfly needles, for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric. Collect and store blood and other specimens, such as urine and fecal samples, according to established procedures and test requirements. Explain venipuncture, blood draw, and specimen collection procedures to patients in a clear, courteous, and professional manner. Fully understand and interpret physicians' orders and accurately match laboratory requisition forms or computer-generated labels to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by specific test orders to maintain specimen integrity. Essential Skills Minimum of 2-3 years of work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a phlebotomist. Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture using straight needles. Experience performing adult blood draws. Ability to perform 25-30 blood draws per shift. Work Environment The schedule runs from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with every other Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gurnee, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
