UNCTIONS
Completes pre-visit planning, lab follow up, folder manager for provider, etc. Interviews patients to obtain medical information. Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares them for the physician or other health care provider. Measures and records vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure. Records patients' medical history in medical records. Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean. Assists provider with treatments, procedures within scope of practice Takes inventory of medical supplies and restocks rooms. Maintains inventory of clean linens. Washes dirty linens. Provides education material to patients. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Maintains current credentialing. Assists provider in completing paperwork/forms in a timely manner (assigned to provider(s) as folder manager). Completes appropriate and timely charting. Participates in quality assurance activities. Attends required meetings.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED Successful completion of a medical assistant or similar nursing program from an accredited institution Certification in medical assisting preferred Previous experience in a medical practice preferred Universal Primary Care (UPC) is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual with a positive attitude to join our team of healthcare professionals. This position is responsible for administrative and basic clinical duties under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, licensed physician, or other licensed health care provider with legal authority.
