Job Description

PRODUCTION KITTER A
Kitter prepares, gathers, organizes, and stages raw materials, parts, and components into kits for production or assembly lines, following specific work orders or bills of materials. They ensure accuracy in inventory, perform quality checks, and maintain safe, organized work areas, often acting as a bridge between logistics and manufacturing teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in manufacturing, logistics, or warehouse environments. Ability to read work orders, Bills of Materials, and production schedules. Ability to lift, push, or pull and stand for long periods. Basic computer skills for inventory management systems. Certification or experience with forklifts, pallet jacks. Attention to detail, high level of accuracy to ensure the correct parts are included in each kit. Math skills for measuring and counting materials. Ability to read and interpret work orders, bills of materials, and production schedules. Strong communication skills to report shortages or damage.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Kitting & Assembly:
Collects components from inventory and prepares kits (boxes, containers, trolleys, pallets) for production and/or assembly efficiency.
Inventory Control:
Manages inventory accuracy by tracking materials, performing cycle counts, and updating levels in computer systems.
Material Transport:
Moves materials from storage to designated production areas using warehouse equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks.
Inspection:
Inspects incoming materials and prepared kits for defects, discrepancies, or damaged parts.
Documentation:
Completes necessary paperwork, including shipping reports, picking lists, and inventory documentation.
Area Maintenance:
Maintains a clean, safe, and organized area.
