Job Description
Medical Assistant 2324 Sunset Boulevard, West Columbia, SC 29169 Full-time Full-time Enjoy what you do while contributing to a company that makes a difference in people's lives. Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group (PREG), the largest network of fertility clinics in the Carolinas, seeks experienced, compassionate, and detail-oriented team players who are committed to delivering exceptional patient care to join our practice. The work we do building families offers stimulation, challenge, and personal reward in a family-oriented environment. We have an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant to join our team in Columbia, South Carolina. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
How You'll Contribute:
We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn't specifically our "job." In general, the Medical Assistant is responsible for: Rooming patients, obtaining vitals, and engaging patients to determine the reason for visit and documenting in patient's chart Performing basic triage per specific office protocol Processing telephone messages and triaging/processing messages from patients and front office staff to physician/provider/RN Following prescription refill procedures/protocols Following scheduling protocols for ART cycles/ovulation induction/IVF labs/follow-ups Maintaining patient confidentiality Recording patient and lab charges for billing department Providing instructions to patients as instructed by physician/provider/RN pertaining to their ongoing health care including, but not limited to: results of lab and x-ray reports, diet and exercise, laboratory and radiology preparation. Maintaining all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.) All other duties as assigned by physician/provider/RN or practice administratorWhat You'll Bring:
The skills and education we need are: High School diploma required Current MA certification or ability to pass the National Medical Assistant Certification exam (AAMA or NCCT) within one year of hire BLS certification Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Ability to learn as well as teach others Knowledge ofCPT & ICD-10
coding desired Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge of electronic medical record software Polished and professional image Exceptional interpersonal skills Detail oriented Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office More important than the best skills, however, is the right person.
