Medical Assistant Instructor (Day Program) Hunter Business School
  • Long Island, NY Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM

Our Medical Assistant program equips students with the clinical, administrative, and professional skills needed to excel in today's healthcare environment. We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and engaging Medical Assistant Instructor to join our daytime faculty team. This is an opportunity for an experienced healthcare professional who enjoys mentoring others and is committed to helping adult learners build confidence, competence, and career-ready skills. Position Summary The Medical Assistant Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to adult learners in both the clinical and administrative components of our Medical Assistant program. The ideal candidate will create an engaging classroom experience, provide hands-on lab instruction, and prepare students for entry-level employment in a professional healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Student Development Deliver engaging classroom, laboratory, and hands-on instruction in accordance with the established curriculum Teach both clinical and administrative medical assisting procedures, principles, and professional standards Demonstrate, supervise, and evaluate hands-on clinical competencies in a laboratory setting Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, demonstrations, and learning activities that support student success Foster critical thinking, professionalism, and workplace readiness Student Mentorship & Support Provide timely feedback, academic support, and individualized guidance to students Monitor student progress and identify opportunities for improvement Promote student accountability, confidence, and professional growth Maintain a positive, supportive, and professional learning environment Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student progress records Complete required academic documentation in a timely and organized manner Adhere to school policies, program standards, and accreditation requirements Program Collaboration Work collaboratively with program leadership, faculty, and staff to support program excellence Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, student events, and graduation activities as needed Contribute to continuous improvement of curriculum, instructional methods, and student outcomes Qualifications Required Minimum of 2 years of recent work experience as a Medical Assistant Current knowledge of clinical and administrative medical assisting practices Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Passion for teaching, mentoring, and student success Preferred Prior teaching, training, precepting, or mentoring experience in an academic, clinical, or professional setting Postsecondary or vocational education experience Relevant certifications such as American Association of Medical Assistants ( CMA ) or equivalent credential Schedule Monday
