JOB SUMMARY
HealthRIGHT 360, a family of programs, is located across 13 different counties in California. Health
RIGHT 360
provides an array of medical and behavioral health services to some of the most vulnerable populations, ranging from primary care, mental health services, detox, substance use disorder treatment in both residential and outpatient settings, and transitional services for the criminal justice population. San Mateo MAT Clinic is a small, growing community health clinic that provides care to underserved San Mateo County population. Medical Assistant is an essential member of the care team and is responsible for information management, coordination, care, and support. The Medical Assistant (MA) is a key member of the Clinic Care Team and as such, performs clinical and administrative tasks consistent with Health
RIGHT 360
policies and protocols. Duties include preparing treatment rooms, assisting physicians with examination materials, instruments and equipment, maintaining supply inventories, and performing laboratory tests including phlebotomy, providing case management and referral follow-up with patients, Insurance verification, and patient scheduling.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities:
  • Assist clinicians in the examination process.
  • Perform office tests including vision screening, spirometry, EKG, rapid strep, UA and urine pregnancy tests.
  • Perform phlebotomy, injections, TB tests, breathing treatments.
Schedules medical clinic appointments and directs calls throughout the agency. Assists with enrolling patients into HSF (Healthy San Francisco) program. Makes follow-up calls for providers; calls to confirm "next day's appointments". Greets and provides customer service to patients, guests, clients, and vendors. Communicates clearly on the phone and accurately takes and delivers messages.
Preparation Responsibilities:
  • Perform intake, including vital signs, list chief complaints, allergies, immunization histories and complete chart forms, as appropriate to patient type.
  • Place patients in rooms and prepare them for examination.
Clean, prepare and stock examination rooms. Performs general administrative tasks such as filing, organizing, data entry and billing. Assists in maintaining computerized appointment system (Mysis) or other assigned system. Processes patient/client data entry for company various electronic systems in accordance with guidelines established by Health

to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.
Coordination Responsibilities:
  • Active participation in integrated team-based care which may include receiving and returning telephone calls from patients and pharmacies.
  • Assist in scheduling patient appointments.
  • Monitor and ensure quality assurance of basic clinic functions.
  • Oversee patient flow and ensure smooth, efficient patient flow throughout patient's clinic experience via patient centered care and playing an active role in the team dance, which may include but is not limited to chart prep, huddles, red carpeting the patient, 30 second report, mid-way check in, discharge of the patient.
Administrative Responsibilities :
Manages receipt and routing of agency mail (incoming and outgoing). Assists and directs callers and visitors to appropriate employees and departments. Ability to operate a single or multiple position telephone switchboard. Works in a team-oriented environment. And perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Credentials
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience from a certified Medical Assistant program.
  • First Aid and CPR Certified within 30 days of employment.
  • Basic life support (BLS) CPR certification and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills with certification desired. Knowledge
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Epic EHR experience a preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
