Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist, where you'll be the friendly face and efficient coordinator at the front desk and clinical support areas. This vital role combines patient service excellence with hands-on clinical support, ensuring smooth operations across outpatient and inpatient settings. Your expertise will help deliver compassionate care in diverse medical environments, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and emergency medicine. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and manage appointment scheduling using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, updating personal details, and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature Support clinical staff by preparing examination rooms, sterilizing equipment, and assisting with procedures like X-ray imaging or medication administration Document patient encounters accurately using medical terminology and ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures Perform basic physiology and anatomy assessments to support accurate patient evaluation and care planning Manage administrative tasks including answering phones, handling patient inquiries, verifying insurance details, and maintaining organized records Support inpatient and outpatient care activities across various specialties such as geriatrics, internal medicine, medical-surgical units, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), Level I & II trauma centers Able to administer IM injections. Qualifications Prior experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care or emergency medicine settings highly preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration techniques Experience working with EHR systems in outpatient or inpatient environments; familiarity with X-ray procedures is a plus Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications related to hospital experience or trauma centers are advantageous Strong patient service skills with the ability to handle intake processes efficiently while maintaining professionalism under pressure Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers with a focus on emergency medicine and critical care support Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities including vital signs collection, documentation accuracy, and administrative support Join us in delivering exceptional healthcare experiences!
