Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist, where your energy and dedication will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. This role combines vital clinical support with front-desk responsibilities, ensuring a seamless experience for patients and providers alike. You will be the friendly face greeting patients, managing appointments, and assisting with clinical tasks that keep our outpatient and inpatient services running smoothly. Duties Welcome patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Collect patient vital signs, medical histories, and perform basic assessments such as intake and physiology measurements Prepare patients for examinations or procedures, including X-ray positioning or medication administration when qualified Support clinical staff with tasks like ICD coding, documentation of patient encounters, and updating medical records accurately Assist with laboratory procedures, including specimen collection and processing in outpatient or hospital settings Manage appointment scheduling, patient correspondence, and insurance documentation to ensure smooth clinic operations Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards Experience Prior experience working in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or medical-surgical units is highly desirable Proven background in outpatient clinics or hospital environments, including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers experience preferred Familiarity with EHR systems and medical terminology to accurately document patient interactions Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, medication administration, and emergency medicine procedures Experience supporting inpatient units such as PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) or Geriatrics is a plus Demonstrated ability to perform vital signs collection, intake assessments, and basic X-ray procedures in a fast-paced setting Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications related to hospital medicine or emergency medicine are advantageous Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to exceptional patient service and clinical excellence.
