What you'll do The Medical Education Coordinator for Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) is responsible to oversee and coordinate all aspects of the UME program for clerkship and elective rotations at Bassett Medical Center (BMC), not inclusive of the Columbia-Bassett Medical School program. Maintains knowledge of Liaison Committee of Medical Education (LCME) accreditation requirements to assure compliance. Coordinates academic faculty appointments to Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons as directed by the Assistant Dean for Education of the Bassett Healthcare Network (BHN) and Columbia University and/or the Chief Academic Officer for BHN. The Medical Education Specialist for UME is also responsible for the management of contracts, program letter of agreements, affiliation agreements and certificates of insurance for medical students and Graduate Medical Education (GME). Central point of contact for colleges, faculty, administrators and medical students for clerkships and elective rotations at BMC Coordinates preceptors for clerkship and elective rotations Coordinates housing placement for medical students prior to clerkship and rotation starts with the Facilities Coordinator at BMC Responsible for assuring all medical students are credentialing prior to starting their clerkship or rotation Communicates with medical students prior to clerkship and elective rotations Assures didactic and lectures have been scheduled, communicating with medical students and faculty when changes occur Prepares and delivers orientation and on-boarding for medical students Provides direct support to the clerkship directors and preceptors for elective rotations Collection and management of student evaluations Preparation and distribution of educational materials Maintains knowledge of LCME accreditations requires to assure all programs are meeting the accreditation requirements Enters and maintains statistical data for student clerkships and rotations, prepares and runs reports, analyzes data and provides input to metrics Coordinates with Facilities to assure the inventory of items in the medical student houses are maintained Coordinates all financial aspects for medical students including processing of invoices and payments and providing an annual budget to the Administrative Director of Medical Education Participates in the planning and development of policies and procedures as it relates to UME Provides backup to the Columbia-Bassett Program Coordinator as requested Academic Faculty Appointments Coordinates and tracks the initial and renewal appointments for faculty that teach medical students enrolled in Columbia-Bassett Medical School Works closely with BHN Department Chiefs to assure appointments and reappointments for faculty are completed in a timely fashion Reviews all documents submitted by BHN Department Chiefs and faculty meet the formatting required by Columbia Serves as the liaison with Columbia in assuring appointments and reappointments are executed Engages the Assistant Dean for Education of the Bassett Healthcare Network (BHN) and Columbia University and/or the Chief Academic Officer for BHN regarding any issues Legal Contracts Coordinates and tracks the initial contracting, amendments and renewals for medical students and GME trainees, overseeing each step in the process until completion, including certificates of insurance Manages communications and correspondence with external vendors, healthcare facilities, medical schools, GME offices and other partners in regard to contracts, program letters of agreements, affiliation agreements and certificates of insurance Creates drafts from approved templates and/or prepares contracts for review Engages the BHN Contract Administrator and Administrate Director of Medical Education regarding any negations or changes to contracts beyond standard pre-approved modifications Other Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director and Administrative Director of Medical Education Assists, tracks, organizes residency or fellowship related activities in consultation with and on the direction of the Administrative of Medical Education, and thus support the institutions' Graduate Medical Education activities What we need from you

2 Year/Associate Degree in Business, Healthcare, Education or other related field, reqired Experience may be considered in lieu of education 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare, Education or other related field, preferred
Experience:
Minimum 3 years Medical Education or Education experience, required Additional 2 years of Medical Education experience may be considered in lieu of degree completion Minimum 1 year healthcare experience, preferred
Licensure/Certifications:
Current NYS Driver's License, required

Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. Pay Range Minimum:
USD $23.31/Hr.
Pay Range Maximum:
USD $34.96/Hr.
