The Practice Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the daily operations, staff performance, and workflow efficiency of a busy outpatient surgical practice. This position is responsible for leading and supporting front-office and clinical teams, ensuring operational excellence across locations, and maintaining a positive, collaborative workplace culture. The ideal candidate is an experienced healthcare leader with a strong background in supervision, team management, and medical practice operations. This individual must be highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities while driving accountability, staff development, and operational consistency in a fast-paced environment. This full-time, in-office leadership position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on patient experience, employee engagement, and overall practice performance. Responsibilities Supervise daily operations of the medical practice to ensure efficient workflows, operational consistency, and an exceptional patient experience. Provide leadership, oversight, and support to clinical and administrative staff, including onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution. Foster a collaborative, professional, and team-oriented work environment focused on accountability, communication, and service excellence. Serve as a resource for staff regarding office operations, workflow processes, scheduling concerns, and patient service matters. Oversee patient flow, provider scheduling coordination, staffing coverage, and workflow optimization to maximize efficiency and productivity. Identify operational challenges and implement process improvements to enhance quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and overall practice performance. Monitor operational metrics and support action plans related to performance improvement and organizational goals. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, company policies, and all regulatory and organizational standards. Assist with vendor communication, inventory oversight, supply management, and other operational logistics necessary for daily practice functions. Collaborate with physicians, leadership, and cross-functional teams on operational planning, strategic initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts. Qualifications High School diploma or GED required Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory, management, or team-lead experience in a healthcare or medical office setting Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing workflows, and supporting employee performance Strong understanding of medical office operations and outpatient practice workflows Experience with EMR/EHR systems (eClinicalWorks preferred) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Strong professionalism, discretion, and leadership presence Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred Previous supervisory experience in a surgical or specialty medical practice Experience managing multi-site operations or cross-functional teams Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and team management abilities Ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal communication skills Strategic thinking and operational problem-solving capabilities Ability to identify workflow inefficiencies and implement improvements Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and healthcare technology systems Commitment to professionalism, accountability, and patient-centered care Schedule & Work Environment Full-time, Monday-Friday (day shift) In-office role (not remote) Fast-paced outpatient medical practice environment Benefits 401(k) with company match Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance Life & Disability coverage Flexible Spending Account (FSA) / Health Savings Account (HSA) Paid Time Off Additional Notes This position is focused heavily on leadership, supervision, and operational management within a growing surgical practice.
