THE POSITION
The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a Medical Records Supervisor to support the medical staff at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Albion. In this role, you help manage important health record systems and make sure information is well organized and accurate. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position oversees medical records operations and supports staff who manage inmate health information. As a Medical Records Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
Staff Supervision:
Manage work assignments, provide training, and guide subordinate staff
Record Management:
Organize and maintain the integrated health record system in accordance with standards
Record Processing:
File, issue, and transfer medical records while following confidentiality rules and legal statutes
Quality Review:
Check medical records for accuracy and follow up with staff on incomplete documentation
Report Preparation:
Create statistical reports and prepare records for departmental reviews
Committee Participation:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday
  • Friday.

Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary Special Requirement:
You must be in possession of a valid Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certificate or a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certificate issued by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), or eligibility for certification including completion of an AHIMA approved RHIT or RHIA Health Information Management education program.
Post Employment Requirement:
Employees who meet the Necessary Special Requirement based on the eligibility option for the RHIT or RHIA certification must obtain one of these certifications within 12 months of employment.
Other Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
