Job Description
Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, performs hands-on nursing care for Quincy Healthcare & Senior Living residents within the scope of practice, with emphasis on preparation for, and transportation to, appointments/events. Assures the highest degree of patient care is being maintained at all times, as well as compliance with current standards of practice, facility protocol and safety regulations. In particular, maintains a broad understanding of care plans and other medical issues to be of assistance to resident and doctor at appointment. Responsible for purchasing common supplies for the nursing department, and residents, after receiving order approval from the DON/Administrator. Distributes supplies to the appropriate areas of the building. Maintains inventories and 3 week Par levels for Nursing Supplies and specific equipment. Cleans wheelchairs, walkers and concentrators and scans all resident chart information with upload to SigmaCare. Has knowledge and follows all policies and procedures of the Facility. Must have a valid unencumbered Illinois Driver's License, a clean driving history approved by the company's insurance carrier, and be able to obtain any special license classification(s) required to drive a large passenger bus. Must be friendly and enjoy interacting with the elderly and their families.
