Tri-County Orthopedics is seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Secretary/Surgical Scheduling Office Assistant to join our healthcare team in our Lake Hopatcong office. This vital role ensures the smooth operation of our medical practice by providing administrative support, coordinating patient interactions, and maintaining accurate records. This position will also support surgical scheduling processes by providing exceptional support to patients, surgeons, and staff. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, possesses excellent communication and organizational skills, and thrives in a fast-paced medical environment. This position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy, and deliver a high level of patient care.Key Responsibilities:
Check daily faxes, scan and upload into practice electronic health records system Fax forms to hospitals and surgery centers Assist with coordination of scheduling surgical procedures for a Joint Replacement surgeon Assist with the communication of surgery dates, times, and pre/post operative instructions to patients Assist in the scheduling and tracking of pre-operative clearances, labs, and imaging Obtain and verify insurance authorizations and referrals Ensure all required documentation is completed and submitted in a timely manner Maintain accurate and up-to-date surgical schedules, patient records, and medical files accurately Schedule other non-surgical appointments and manage the provider's calendars Handle large volume of incoming calls, emails, and correspondence efficiently Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and other staff Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy Join our team and contribute to providing exceptional patient care in a supportive and professional environment.
