Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Certified Medical Coder/Biller to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and reimbursement for services rendered. This role involves managing medical records, coding diagnoses and procedures, and facilitating efficient billing processes to support optimal revenue cycle management. Duties Review and accurately code medical records using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, coding systems to ensure proper reimbursement. Prepare and submit insurance claims promptly while verifying coverage details to minimize denials. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance. Collaborate with physicians and administrative staff to clarify documentation discrepancies or incomplete records. Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems efficiently for documentation, coding, and billing purposes. Stay current with updates in medical coding standards, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations to maintain accuracy. Qualifications Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent credential is required. Proven experience in medical billing and coding within a healthcare setting, preferably in orthopedics or sports medicine. Strong knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems. Familiarity with medical office operations, including medical records management and insurance claim processing. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and other relevant healthcare software applications. Excellent understanding of medical terminology, billing procedures, and compliance standards. Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
